Bargain (medium) High Powered Light Print
Written by shiggy
Wednesday, 29 July 2009 14:43

I REALLY like this light. I bought the Niterider MiNewt USB last year on a lark and was surprised at just how good it is. At ~$100 retail and with 110 lumens of output I did not expect much from this single LED light, but NR used great optics to make the most of the power available. The beam is narrow and pushes the light out to best effect. The result is still no match for the high-end LED and HID systems though still very ridable offroad. I now carry mine in my pack most of the time in case of emergencies that may force my rides into the night. Compact. Three hour run time.

MiNewt USB Plus with bar and helmet mounts: $82.99 ($129msrp)

MiNewt USB, bar mount only: $74.99 ($100msrp)

Bonus that the battery is light weight and can be attached to the helmet. USB charging lets you refresh the battery anywhere you have a computer.

Vredestein Bull Lock Print
Written by Administrator
Thursday, 02 July 2009 20:01

Vredestein has a great history in bicycle tires but their mtb models have been hard to come by in the USA.

Jenson has acquired several models and are offering them at the outstanding price of $20 each.

Bull Locks 26x 2.00 and 2.35 folding bead

Only $20 ($56msrp)

Deep, open, full treaded tire. Works great in the slop or general soft/loose conditions. Good casing volume. Hard rubber compound  so not great on hard and wet surfaces (rocks roots).
